Daryll Hall and John Oates are not being bandmates again

Daryl Hall and John Oates, a pair of former bandmates known for their rock duo performances, have been in disagreement for the past few years. In an interview with The Times, Daryl was firm about not wanting to work with John again, citing what he referred to as a "betrayal," which he reflected on during the interview. This fallout ultimately led to a lawsuit and the end of their long-standing friendship.

The conflict began in November 2023 when the duo became involved in a legal dispute — one that John dismissed as "boring." The core of the issue was Daryl’s attempt to sell his share of their joint business venture without informing John. Daryl later remarked, “The ship has gone to the bottom of the sea,” indicating that reconciliation is unlikely.

Although he can't reveal details of the legal case, Daryl stated that both he and John knew there was no longer a creative partnership between them. He emphasized that he has always considered himself a solo artist and that working with John was just part of his career, not the core of it.
